9 Days of Shimmer - Day 8, Vanessa & Stripes

Good evening all,
Today I have my favourite polish from the Shimmer collection to share! It wasn't my favourite from looking at the bottles, but once it was on my nails Oh. My. God. Holographic glitter. Tiny glitter particles of every colour, with a silver shimmery base. Amazeballs.
I used Wet n Wild Black Creme as the underwear, two coats of Vanessa and two coats of Poshe. There might be a tiiiiny bit of picture spam going on here, but it's just so amazing.
I love the green sheen on the picture above, every angle makes this polish look different! I decided to pop some stripes over the top with some more Black Creme- and unbelievably, there was actually two minutes of sun the day I took pics so I managed to capture the amazing holo aspect of the glitter in sunlight.
Hands down my fave polish in this series!
Love,
Alice

I am BAT THUMB!

I was so excited about seeing Batman over the weekend that I decided to full on GEEK OUT and having matching nails!
The film was amazeballs- I won't say anything about it because I loathe people who give out spoilers, but it's definitely worth a watch.
I used:
Color Club Almost Famous (FOUR coats because it was a total nightmare)
Konad Special Polish in Black
Bundle Monster plates 213, 13 and 305 (which I tweaked a bit)
Seche Vite

And you should check out the original Bat Thumb for shits and giggles, I absolutely cracked up when I saw this!

Hearty Birdies

Hello all,
You may have noticed that I've had a bit of a blog makeover! I was long overdue one, so last night I knuckled down and sorted a new header. What do you all think? I suspect it might be a bit too in your face...half of me loves how massive it is and the other half thinks "Woah. Really?!" I'll probably end up changing it at some point but it'll do for now.
Onto the nails! Do you ever wake up with the urge to have the girliest, pinkest, softest nails? Well, I have these bizarre urges sometimes, and they cannot be controlled. When such needs arise, I head for my ridiculous collection of pinks and let my inner five year old do the choosing. I recently acquired Revlon popular (or Starry Night as it's now known) from my lovely polish fairy Kim in a swap, and it is just so lovely. It's a light pink scattered with tiny silver glitters, and a few bigger silver hexes thrown in for good measure.
This is three coats (wasn't the easiest application- bit thick and draggy, and it kept trying to give me bald spots) stamped over with Konad plate Q1 and black Konad polish. The hearts were (painstakingly) dotted on with a dotting tool.
So frustrating trying to take photos of glitter polish in overcast weather. Damn you Wales!
Popular on its own. So pretty!
These nails got soooo many compliments, I felt like such a lady wearing them. To remedy this unusual feeling, I've got a neon splaticure to show you tomorrow!

Twiggie's Zebra

Good day folks!

Absolutely loving the nail colours knocking about recently- neons and pastels are both in abundance, and although they are pretty much totally opposing themes I adore them both! Approximately 98% of my posts for the rest of this year will be variants of these two....just to warn you.

This is a recent mani I did with one of Color Club's Poptastic collection colours ( CC do rock out some amazing neons). I added the zebra print after with a Konad plate and stamp- my pictures aren't really doing it justice to be honest. But photographing neons seems to give everyone hassle so at least I'm not alone!

What I used:

Color Club Twiggie
Konad Special Polish Black
Konad plate m57
Seche Vite

This just POPPED so much in person. Most people commented on how I'd blinded them with it - their eyesight was a neccessary sacrifice to the nail polish gods.

What do you guys think of neons? Love em or hate em?

Til next time,

Stamping in the Buff

Greetings all!

Short but sweet post today- continuing my theme of guest nails!

I did my sister Lydia's nails over Christmas, and as she's a solicitor it needed to be something less OTT and more sophistated *puts away neon pink whilst softly weeping*

She decided on some pretty stamping, and I have to say I absolutely love what she chose. I never would have picked it out for a design myself but I LOVE the combo!

I used Boots No. 7 So Simple for the base, and then used about a million different plates for the stamps as she wanted a different design on every nail- Konad m2 and m3, fauxnad m20, and probably a few others too! I only had Born Pretty's stamping polish in black, and it wasn't the best to work with- I know from experience that it smudges really badly when you put your Seche Vite on, unless you give them an hour to thoroughly dry.
